I have many words written down in my journals. I'm not yet good at being a public person, but feel a pull to be an encouragement in the world. The lives around me are precious to me, and I feel the call of God to lift up the head of the weary.
I often think on the scripture Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I often read it in The Message translation
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
It is an encouragement to me as I walk through life, and I hope to encourage others that walk beside me for as long as they do.
